Touchdown Helicopters has many years of experience providing our helicopters as a platform for use in aerial survey and spotting applications.

The obvious advantage of the helicopter for both  survey and spotting engangements is in its ability to operate across a range of ground speeds including bringing the helicopter in to the hover for stationary positioning.  Depending on the application, such manoeuvrability can be vital to the success of the operation.

All of our helicopters have either sliding or removable doors so that operators can more easily manage a variety of instruments on board for infrared and ultraviolet aerial imagery and photogrammetry as well as for collection of Lidar based datasets.  We are also authorised by CASA to operate below 500ft in the airwork category of which aerial survey and spotting is included.
