Recreational Pilots Licence (RPL)
The cheapest and easiest way to obtain an entry level Helicopter Licence. A recreational licence allows you to carry passengers but at a restricted capacity compared to the PPL(H). Flights are restricted to piston powered aircraft and can be no further than 25 nautical miles from your departure point. These restrictions can be lifted by obtaining further endorsements to your licence.

Description
The following requirements must be met to obtain a RPL(H): –
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Hold a Class 1, Class 2 or a Recreational Aviation Medical Examiners Certificate
(Class 1, Class 2 must be held or accompanied by a Class 1 or 2 holder to fly with more than 1 passenger)
- Completed 25 hours of flight training consisting of: –
- 20 hours dual flight
- 5 hours solo flight
- Have passed a RPL(H) Knowledge Exam and Flight Test.
